    Sofia Klimkowski Arango is a multidisciplinary artist from Greenville South Carolina, currently based in Baltimore Maryland. Their work spans the breadth of weaving, sculpture, photography, and biology. They are driven by process oriented exploration and the intersections of craft and technology. They live in a world found between mosquito bites, dense smelling rain, and orange sunsets over blue mountains.

October - November 2024 With imagery of loved ones, shadows translated over sidewalks, and landscape views overlaid with stripes, I make large-scale weavings that are held by metal sculptural frames. Utilizing themes of the fleeting sensations of love and light, intrapersonal interconnection, and redefining home, my work is about the desire of how many complicated ends can find unlikely destinations to meet.
