Sofia Klimkowski Arango is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher from Greenville South Carolina, currently based in Baltimore Maryland. They have received their BFA in Fiber from the Maryland Institute College of Art. They have exhibited in group and solo exhibitions across Baltimore, most recently with Pitted: Home at the Heart of an Empire at Area 405 and with a FAIR at XOXO Gallery. Their work spans the breadth of weaving, sculpture, photography, and biology. By combining textile traditions with digital design, they navigate intimacy versus isolation versus intrusion. They live in a world found between dense smelling rain, grass-itchy ankles, and orange sunsets over blue mountains.
